Sure, like I said, I’m a Christian and a Baptist, but there are a lot of Christian people who believe that their religion is the only thing that matters. They might not be Christians, but they certainly believe that their religion is the only thing that matters. To some of them I say, “Well, you know, at the end of the day, everything you believe is equally valid and there is no one thing that is more important than another.
It’s certainly true that for many Christians, the core tenets of their faith are the most important element in their life. Whether that’s the importance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, or the importance of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, or the importance of the eternal life that they believe that God promises to those who repent and believe. It’s no surprise that in the church there may be more than one denomination or school or even a denomination that teaches this belief.
The core ideas behind the Christian faith, that Jesus is the Son of God, and that Jesus died for our sins, are important, and they are important because they are central to the core beliefs of many Christians. The problem with many Christians, however, is that they do not consider the ideas behind the core beliefs of Christianity.
