By There are many ways for a college student to get involved in a sport, from starting a club, participating in an intramurals team, playing on a varsity team, or just by watching the games.
But for me, at least, being a fan of men’s college soccer was the quickest and easiest way to get involved. I was lucky enough to have a team at a small, community college, which meant I could get to go to games, watch the guys play in the stadium, and get to meet some of the players, all within a few short blocks of where I lived. I’ve been to games five times since I was a junior, and the last time was in 2002.
While I was there, I also got to watch a few games on tape. I watched some of the same guys that were in my varsity team play in the stadium. I saw some of the first-ever college men’s soccer team that was all white-guy recruits, and of course, I saw some of the first guys who were actually college players. That’s the thing about college soccer.
I remember one of the first games I saw was a game between two of the first-ever college men’s soccer teams. One of the teams, I believe, was from the state of California, and the other was from the state of Ohio. It was the first time I ever saw a college men’s soccer game. And it was great.
The game was so great because it was played in a way that made it seem like college soccer was completely new to the public. Because the players were all white-guy recruits, the game was played in a way where the opposing team had to score early and try to win the game. There’s a lot of confusion about what’s going on with the game. At first, it seemed like the score was tied, and we were looking at an even game. However, after the initial score, the ball ended up in the other team’s possession and the opposing team scored. From that point on, the game was all about possession and trying to secure a goal.
